Charcoal on Cardboard

This drawing using charcoal on cardboard was a fun sketch. I have been in the habit of saving the cardboard from my empty cereal boxes for quite sometime. I use the inside . I like the fact I am repurposing material. The hardness of the cardboard is nice to work on and has just enough texture for applying the charcoal. It also provides a medium background colour tone for my application of some white pencil crayon. The cardboard from different cereal boxes range in tone from brownish to greyish, those differences offer some variety in choosing the most appropriate cardboard for the subject matter..
